Anybody else get random flashbacks? I have PTSD from many things. But what I’ve noticed the most lately is flashbacks from being hit in my car whenever I drive, flashbacks from my really toxic relationship where I was gaslit… which that stops me from driving and the other stops me from wanting a relationship. I have a friend and some odd reason she reminds me of my ex… and I get a lot of flashbacks when I’m with her. And she is just my friend… I also get flashbacks about my family throughout the day on a normal basis. Kinda keeps me in my depression and my anxiety state of mind most of the time. The worst part is I feel very alone… The person I live with doesn’t fully understand mental health… and she can be harsh when I open up. So I just hide in my room most of the time.

I can relate to this post a lot. I’ve had experiences where I’ve dealt with sexual abuse and anything related under that category causes me to freeze and panic. Or, any signs of toxicity in my current friendships reminds me of my past friendships. Pretty much anything related no matter how small or big, if it is anything similar to what was endured in the past, then I just start remembering stuff until it wants to end. If the person you live with doesn’t understand you mentally, try to seek other support systems that will. Perhaps anyone you trust if possible. But if not, seeking professional help is an option too. I wish you the best in your situation, take care ❤️
Idk how recent your traumas are... But the first part of healing is avoiding triggers. You can't deprogram your mind if you're always in a state of panic, so you need to identify what triggers you and then do your best to avoid it while you get professional treatment.
