Has anyone else had to stop talking to their family because of triggers? I stood up for how I’d been feeling recently And was told by family that I need to stop overthinking and overreacting to everything. I’m not talking to anyone now and I don’t know how to feel anymore.

I don't willingly talk to my extended family because of religious trauma. Any time I make a choice, it is met with unwanted religious guidance and comments from them. I believe my real family are those I choose.

My father was probably one of the biggest triggers so I stopped keeping him actively involved in my life a few years ago. It was honestly freeing. It is difficult some days but the good out weighs the bad. Family can be who you choose. It doesn't have to be blood. Find your family and things will get better
