Hi, my name is Abby. I have many chronic illnesses. The one that really bothers me the most is fibromyalgia. The feelings of the people around me, work especially, not having compassion for this illness has been weighing very heavily on me for some time now. How do you all cope with this?

Hi, I talk with anyone else who has a chronic illness that gets it. I also try educating those around me and slowly but surely some ppl are starting to get it but still plenty that don't. I focus on what I do have and when it gets hard I make sure I feel all my feelings and get back to a more balanced perspective. My faith also helps me. šŸ™šŸ¾ wishing you relief and many reasons to smile.

Fibromyalgia is awful and having people be total buttheads doesnā€™t help! I have found that more people understand it than they used to. I donā€™t know if that helps. Also, Iā€™ve been battling Fibromyalgia for over a decade so if you need anything just reach out! ā˜ŗļø

This is a large reason why I joined this app. People can be very cruel or just plain ignorant. I wouldnā€™t hold in high regard the comments and opinions of those who are cruel to someone who is in chronic pain. You matter and deserve to be treated with kindness and respect regardless of fibromyalgia. I hope you find little things that make you happy .

Hi Abby I have this and ME as wellā€¦ itā€™s tough when others donā€™t understand this illness and the painā€¦ I try to focus on one thing a day that brings me happiness even if I am having a very bad day I try to find one thing that makes me happy. Itā€™s nice to have others to talk to that also have these illnesses because we can feel less alone ā™„ļø

Hey Abby! I have fibromyalgia also, but itā€™s a new diagnosis for me. That being said, I get what youā€™re saying. Iā€™ve already faced some people that believe that fibro isnā€™t real, or that itā€™s just something you can push through. Iā€™m 31 and I feel like Iā€™m 87. Iā€™m always in pain, with some days better than others. Iā€™ve been trying to find new ways to cope, but it can be hard, especially when people seem harsh towards chronic illness. Iā€™m here to support you, and I hope youā€™re having an okay day!

šŸ˜„ Iā€™ve never been big on caring what others think. I always try and do my best and to be better than what I was the day before. No one walks in your shoes but they walk in shoes my saying is donā€™t judge me because I sin different than you. If that makes sense. But since I switched careers Iā€™m in a faster pace position where I have a hard time trying to keep up because of the pain and I find myself thinking are people talking about me because I have a hard time remembering and because I canā€™t type as fast because of my hands hurting and sometimes not having feelings. But at the end of the day I push those feelings deep down and say I made it through my day and I did the best I could. Love yourself and just keep going and embrace when you canā€™t because if we could run a marathon or move a mountain we would definitely tryā€¦
