i go non verbal quite often especially when negatively overstimulated, i basically just wait it out but if my boyfriends around he encourages me to communicate in other ways and eventually gets me out of my non verbal state when comfortable enough by using safe items, foods, films/shows, music etc

Yes I've been semi verbal my whole life. It can "randomly" happen or during meltdowns

I have this experience sometimes, usually when my social battery is drained like after work or school.
For me it's like the words won't physically exit my mouth. It usually happens in stressful situations or with something I am uncomfortable with saying. Almost like I'm terrified of breaking the silence
I don't know if it counts, but if I'm having a really bad day or am around a large group of people, a lot of the time I'll go non-verbal, and yeah it makes it feel like my whole body wants to explode
