I think my psychiatrist and doctor misdiagnosed me. I don’t think I’m autistic so if anyone has any advice on what to do that would be great :)

Step 1: be sure it’s a miss diagnosis It’s hard to get an autism diagnosis most the time. When people think it’s a misdiagnosis a lot of the time misconceptions about autistic people and years of masking can make them think their diagnosis is wrong. I would recommend looking more into autism from the autistic perspective (Tags “actuallyautistic” on social media and videos such as aspie world or Paige Layle) before being certain you aren’t autistic. Step 2: you’re missed diagnosed. what could it be? The most common things misdiagnosed/comorbid are ADHD, OCD, BPD, Bipolar, and/or PTSD. Keep in mind many of these are comorbid so you could have both. However, some of these combined (ADHD+OCD or BPD + ADHD + PTSD for example.) Could look like autism. Best of luck.

Katty: Thanks for your comment, that helps me out. I think autism is an accurate diagnosis for me but sometimes I second guess it
Jripley: I will specify that is is FAR more common for it to be autism + comorbidies/some misdiagnosis. If you relate with the core of autism (social difficulties) it’s almost certain you are autistic. I would STONGLY recommend looking more into autism from the autistic prospective. However I will not claim that you must be autistic, bc *occasionally* it is a misdiagnosis.
I’ve been concerned that I was misdiagnosed too. It’s interesting what Katty commented here and I think it makes sense — I was originally getting tested for ADHD before eventually getting tested and diagnosed with autism, I’ve been diagnosed with OCD (which I know for sure is accurate), and I’m now getting tested for BPD. So I’ve been worried that maybe I’ve just had other conditions that seem like autism put together
