Ok I have been diagnosed with major depressive disorder and PTSD. I’m currently on meds now and will see a new therapist soon. What can I expect?

I am so happy and proud of you for seeking for help, it isn’t trivial. The therapist will want to get to know you first and decide with you together about the goals of the therapy. It takes time and a lot of patiencr to feel the benefits of therapy and it can be frustrating especially because you've probably been dealing with a lot of emotional baggage for a long time. Be strong, and fight this. Eventually it will get better

First the therapist would like to get to know you and the reason you are reaching out for help. You'll be asked about your current symptoms or struggles, as well as your relationships, your interests and your strengths. Most importantly, be honest and don't be afraid to speak whatever you think or feel, this is the place to do so.
