So my girlfriend and I broke up. It was clean. It was similar to just saying goodbye to someone as the leave to go over seas. Which isn’t far from the truth. The reason we broke up is cus she will be moving for a task that requires a lot of her focus. She hasn’t left quite yet but she’s preparing which has no room for a boyfriend. We knew this relationship would end from the beginning for this very reason. She still cried more then I’ve ever seen her cry. And I haven’t felt much. I don’t really feel any pain. It’s kinda confusing cus I feel like I should be feeling something but I feel no difference.

I felt the same way too when my ex girlfriend broke up with me, though the circumstances were heavier. I felt at the time the best I could do was do my best to support her in making sure she was okay after the breakup and move on— it was kinda like, well that sucked but maybe I can find someone else. Then the pandemic struck and two years later I miss her so much that it really isn’t fair. So that heartache came two years late for me.

      Is this common for you?

@ItsMeMTB no. This is my second relationship. The first one ended on the phone with her in rome. It was a messy fallout. This one is clean. We still talk. We still intend to hangout when possible.

I think every person goes through these processes in different ways. I would say don't rush, give yourself and her some time, be honest and identify your feelings without judging them and last but not least, don't hesitate to look for help if you feel like it
