Overcoming Driving Anxiety: Tips and Tricks

Does anyone struggle with driving anxiety? I should have gotten my license years ago but there’s something about driving that is holding me back. Ideally I’d like to drive and feel independent, but then my brain creates too many “What If” scenarios and I tense up and start going into fight or flight. Anyone know how to combat this?

      When I saw this I felt the biggest rush of relief. I’m so sorry that you have to deal with driving anxiety but I’ve never found someone who struggles like I do. I’m about to turn 22 and I just can’t seem to feel comfortable enough alone in the car

      Yes!! I'm 22 and this is exactly it. I drive with my mom sometimes and my brain is always going a million miles an hour

        @AMWes it feels good to know i’m not the only adult like this. i always feel like anyone i meet will make fun of me when i say i can’t drive because they won’t understand

      i get this so much. i am 20 and i have only been behind the wheel once in my life. i have severe anxiety around it and when someone even suggests i drive somewhere i freak out. i know i need to do it, but i’m just so afraid
