Hi, I’m emonie and I’m 18 years old and I wonder how do you try to interact with others without making things awkward or weird?

Honestly I'm not great at it myself but I've slowly learned that what i feel is super awkward or weird to say or do most of the time is just normal and it's my anxiety convincing me it's weird. If you start thinking something you want to say if weird try thinking about if another person you're talking to would say it, often we think something is super weird for us to say but someone else could say the exact same thing and it's absolutely normal. Social anxiety sucks and can make it really hard to connect with people but i would say if you can push past the anxiety just go for it, say what you want to say, do what you want to do, it's not going to be as weird as your brain will make you think

That's fair, big group conversations are terrifying and awful to navigate, i usually just end up standing there in silence or absolutely destroying myself over it if i say anything at all. Smaller groups are also not fun but usually a bit easier and for me easier to keep up with, big group conversations move way to fast for me to be able to try and process what i want to say and decide if it's something i can say or not

Honestly I wanted to make friends at school I tried socializing for the first time I made the conversation really awkward and I started to panic because I never surrounded myself with a lot of people before
