Hi, I was just diagnosed with vaginismus recently, and I don’t know where to begin in terms of treatment. Has anyone tried anything to improve your symptoms?

Yoga has helped me a lot. There are even some channels on YouTube specifically for yoga that's good for your pelvic floor. My favorite so far is Dr Bri's Vibrant Pelvic Health. Her videos are very informative and teach you a lot about your body.

my gynecologist recommended a vaginal dilator set, so I got myself one from SoulSource. i personally started with the smallest one, then had my partner use his fingers very gently so he could sort of stretch and move around inside (I have small fingers so it didn’t do much good when I tried). after a little while, I was able to comfortably use tampons, and after about a year of very carefully progressing with my dilators, we started very slowly and took our time getting his *self* in. now I have painless sex just fine! remember to breathe. give yourself time. it won’t stretch instantly. use looooots of lube. go slow, and be patient. don’t push yourself. oh, and with the dilators, see if you can push it all the way in and then hold it in with no hands. if you can, keep it inside for fifteen minutes at a time. it’ll help you grow acclimated to tampons/fingers/whatever else you need up there. good luck with your recovery !!

Lots of lube! I would just use my fingers and stretch out the muscles as best as I could while intentionally breathing. This helped the muscles relax and stretch. It takes time, but there's hope! My husband and I can have pain free sex after two years of hard work. ❤️

I went to a gynecologist and they sent me a to specialist. There I started physical therapy with these things called dilators. You start small and gradually move bigger, with lube. I haven’t seen results as of yet but I just need to be more consistent. I’ve heard it helps wonders for most people.
