I got this skin rash from my cat who scratched me on my leg. He was in the dirt and picked up what the dr. said was ring worm. I was 14 when I I got it. I’m 21 now and still have it. It goes away with cream but when I stop putting cream it comes back. I tried putting cream on the same areas even after it goes away and after doing so for maybe 4 weeks and stopping it still finds a way to come back but takes longer. I also bought a tea tree soap and it works sometimes. I have the rash in areas that are embarrassing and I really want it to go away for good. I don’t know what to do.

@Ralffy drinking alcohol also prevents the fungus from going away and eating sugary things. One time I had a glass of wine and then two days later I had a bunch of spots pop up. I also wonder if using hand sanitizer somehow made my rash come back hard since the pandemic started. I had been using that every day and wasn’t thinking about my skin absorbing the rubbing alcohol. Not sure how that works but maybe the pores in my hands absorbed a good amount of it and travelled through my system as well.

Thank you for all that information. I'm definitely going to start putting it to use. There are antifungal powders. They are not specifically marketed as specifically for ringworm, & most I've found aren't clotrimazole, but foot fungus powders are antifungal. & Foot fungus & ringworm are often the same funguses, & are both treated the same. I've been putting foot fungus powder in my bedding. Because I literally can't wash it every day even if I wanted to. But I have been washing it twice a week, which is as much as I can wash it. I have been getting pretty good about not rewearing any clothing until I've washed it in hot water with bleach. & That's good to know. I had no idea alcohol could affect it that badly. It makes a bit of sense considering alcohol messes with your immune system. I hope it doesn't hurt on the skin cuss I've been using 97% rubbing alcohol to sanitize my hands 90 times a night. Because all of this has been feeding my neuroticism gasoline & Considering all of that I definitely need to be better about changing my dressings. Today has been the only day I didn't change them at least twice. & I had noticed a negative effect on one of them from. When I have been treating it I've been mixing jock itch(butenafine hydrochloride) cream, regular lotrimin(clotrimazole) cream, and antifungal powder(I don't remember the chemical) which are all antifungals

I can definitely feel for you. I've only had ringworm for about 3 weeks. & It driving me insane. & I can't seem to prevent it from spreading. & It really just feels like the nail in my coffen, & has pretty much just been ruining my mental health. For the stupid amount of research I've been doing to. Have you been proscribed any oral antibiotics for your ringworm? & Have you tried antifungal powders as well?

@Ralffy Also don't wear tight clothes and you should also iron everything the rash touches or if you're feeling lazy one day you can dry them on high heat in your dryer

@Ralffy Yeah it’s been a thorn in my side for the longest time. No I had not been prescribed any oral medications bc my dr at the time said it’d be bad for my liver. But with the amount of years I’ve had it I’m willing to consider it honestly. I plan on seeing a dermatologist for the first time since I was 15 to get another biopsy and see where I can go from there. And no I didn’t know there were powders that existed? Right now I’m using an over the counter clotrimazole USP 1% from Walmart. Every night after my shower I use Q-tips to spread the cream on affected areas and then tape Saran Wrap so the cream stays on overnight. It usually helps make it go away within a week or two. But doing that is so exhausting sometimes that I just decide to stop when I see nothing on my skin. BUT THEN IT COMES BACK. So yeah it sucks but maybe since you’ve had yours for very little the Saran Wrap on top of an anti fungal cream every night will help make it go away for good. When I was 14 I didn’t listen to the dr so instead of doing 3 times a day I’d do it once and then put my clothes right on top of it making the cream useless since it wiped right off. I was later told that I may have made the fungus stronger since I had only been treating it when I felt like it. I hope my response helps in some way and your rash goes away.

@Curious1 Can I ask why? As someone with ringworm right now. & Has had a spot on my tongue that feels like some sort of abrasion.
