I’m 46, diabetic for 35 years & use Mirena IUD. I’ve noticed in the last couple of years, significant differences in insulin absorption depending on my cycle. For instance, post period my sugars plummet but pre menstrual, I’m high. It’s maddening and unpredictable. I’m wondering if any other women relate??

Yeah, it makes sense. Being diabetic is a pain in itself. Then add the female body on top of it...its awful. Its an insulin resistance thing with the birth control, unfortunately. Pregnant women have very similar experiences as well

I sometimes experience this too! Not on any birth control. It's definitely related to hormones though
