I want to stop taking my birth control because of the side effects that it’s given me, but it’s the only thing that’s given me relief from my PMDD symptoms. I really don’t know what to do 😰

Try a different type of birth control. I use one that doesn’t have estrogen (nexplanon) and an SSRI. Helped a whole lot !

I also felt suicidal while on birth control to deal With PMDD. I’d say talk to your doctor to see what other options are out there, if you feel the other side effects of BC outweigh its benefits from managing PMDD

@ep23 - one of the bc pills I took did the same to me. I’m on a different brand and I’m feeling much better so far. If you feel comfortable you could try switching!

Birth control made me so suicidal

I would talk to your doc about switching types/brands/dosages of your bc pill. I’ve had to go through quite a few, and I’m still figuring out my perfect match!

I'm on an SSRI for my PMDD symptoms and it has helped a lot... Maybe ask your OBGYN about that
