So tonight was a crazy night. I am a new mother. I have a 9mo old and she’s a mover. She fell…no..she jumped out the grip of my hand and fell hard on the ground. You know what’s happening there. I ask my bf to come and help me calm my nerves due to what happened but he completely ignore my panic attack. I feel very hurt. He said he was sorry but I don’t feel the empathy. Idk is something wrong with me am I delusional?

you’re not delusional in any way. you were having a very understandable response to a scary situation for both you and your lil one. i’ve been a nanny for multiple different families for about 7 years now and my heart still drops to my stomach when the kiddos get any kind of boo boos. it’s very possible that your partner didn’t understand why you reacted that way because he was focused on comforting your lil one or because at this age it’s very very common for little accidents like this to happen as they’re exploring more and having more control of their little motor functions, but it doesn’t make it any less scary in the moment especially when you’re the one in charge at that time. i think it’s important that you tell your partner how you feel and that you feel as if he just brushed off how you truly felt.
