I started taking antidepressants for my OCD half a year ago and since then ive never felt normal. I felt emotionally numb, and i had some side effects that took away some things i used to enjoy. Its frustrating because i only feel like a shell of myself now. Im taking Wellbutrin to combat the side effects of Zoloft, and it isnt even helping with the side effects. My reactions to OCD have pretty much improved to where im no longer doing compulsions, only dealing with intrusive thoughts(knock on wood it stays that way if not improves) I have a psychiatrist appointment tomorrow, would it be best to ask her for a better alternative to Wellbutrin?? Is there any other advice you can offer?

**I too don’t do physical compulsions anymore but I definitely have a lot of intrusive thoughts. I forgot to add that.

I was on Zoloft for two years then my psychiatrist added abilify, which helped a lot at the time. I was on Zoloft for 11 years total until recently when my new psychiatrist switched me to Lexapro. It’s helped tremendously! I would say if you feel the Rx you are on does not help it’s best to ask for an alternative or advice on dosage strength. I hope your appointment went well; regulating brain chemistry is a pain in the butt but I’m rooting for you! 👍

I felt like that on abilify :(. The only thing I've had luck with helping my OCD is trintellix. Prozac was a great for a while but it only helped OCD not depression too
