I an confused about how depression works with Mast cell. Is it like a one time thing, ongoing or just an impending sense of doom?

Anxiety is a known MCAS reaction. My depression gets really bad with flares too but to my knowledge that’s due to the mind-body connection rather than a proven symptom of MCAS

Does it seem to be just related to the MCAS? Chronic illness related depression is absolutely a thing, it's one of the most common complications. If you can, find a therapist who has treated this sort of depression before.

Mine is coming with the episodes. Usually not alone

I've never read anything about depression spiking during MCAS flares, but I do know for me, that when I'm an itchy nauseous mess, I am definitely more depressed and unhappy than usual. It makes sense.

      Does it spike during reactions?

Mine has been ongoing for years.
