Been told lots of my issues are because I’m anxious when I don’t feel anxious and turns out to be a physical issue

Y e s. I have PNES from past traumas and I was ALWAYS told to just “take deep breaths and drink more water” after YEARS I was finally able to get some real solutions

@Oliverita cause that will help. It’s also “exercise more” “try losing weight” I’m so glad you got some!

Hormonal seizures? Sure, seizures can worsen during your cycle due to spikes in certain hormones. Seizures alone are not caused by hormones, but the intensity/frequency can be affected. Look around for other neurologists. Skip the general practices. If you can, try to find an epileptologist. Did a specialist or a general practitioner tell you it's your hormones?

@rainbowofanxiety before I was diagnosed I needed help and I went to go see a practitioner, yes i see a epileptologist now but before I went to several different doctors and I was told that I was ither on my period or hormonal and they’re oils go away.

Yes, some women have experienced being dismissed or denied healthcare due to their gender. One person shared that they were almost led to death because a doctor assumed they had an STD instead of considering other possibilities. Another person mentioned that their panic attacks, anxiety, and bipolar disorder were written off as attention-seeking behavior due to being a female.
