Struggling with Treatment-Resistant Depression and Genetic Polymorphisms

Anyone else have their genes tested (typed?)? It’s a cheek swab to where any genetic polymorphisms you have can be studied; based on the info, you can find what drugs would be most therapeutic for your condition. Anyway, I had that done, and it was determined I have a pretty significant dopamine issue. I don’t produce enough of it, and what I do produce gets “swept” up by a very active “brain-cleaner” mechanism. I’ve struggled my whole life with depression and low, low mood and energy. This test kind of put me on the right track in that literally no anti-depressants were working for me, so being on a stimulant has seemed to be the best solution for me. It isn’t necessarily for ADHD, but for treatment-resistant depression. Adderall was rough on me and when it dropped off in the afternoon, I’d feel angry. I had a lot of side effects, too (teeth-grinding, increased cuticle picking, etc.). I’m on Vyvanse now and still have side effects, but less so. We’ve tried increasing dosage a few times, but then I have heart issues and have to go on blood pressure meds. It’s just like, why even be created so dysfunctionally? Haha. If you need an upper to even remotely want to “do” life, then more drugs for the side effects, then usually a “downer” to actually fall asleep at night, it is very hard to accept. Anyway, I’m currently on 50mg Vyvanse (adjusted to a lower dose from 70mg to avoid heart issues after going off all meds during pregnancy in 2020), and recently started Clonidine for emotional issues. I don’t know that the Clonidine really does anything but negate Vyvanse and make me so sleepy during the day. Anyone in the same boat and/or have suggestions? I think I might just be at “this is the best I can be, and I need to make peace with that,” but that’s discouraging.
