Severe Osteoporosis Treatment Plan: Seeking Advice

How do I find out my number? All I keep being told after every scan, diagnosed first at age 36, is that I have bones of elderly person! About to get my 4th dexa. I fracture very easy and now had to get life alert because my tremors can take me off balance and I fall. Osteoporosis is causing chewing problems along with tmj and mandibular dystonia

Done at Drs. Was told to keep doing the vit d and calcium. 3 options....continue my routine with added estrogen....shot in arm every 3 months...reclast therapy once a year

Mine is about the same. Recommended calcium and vit D, weight bearing exercise (walking). Actually at bone specialists now and will update

I personally am on bio identical testosterone which builds muscle and bone. It also improves mood and labido, and is slightly protective to your breasts. I go back for another bone density test in a few weeks and hope to see good results.

Just had bone scan and my #s same as yours. Recommendation was 1200 mg calcium, 2000 units Vit D, with weight bearing exercise (walking) and referral to Bone clinic.

I wish I knew the numbers of what degrees I have but they told me that it got better but they never told me the number or I don’t know how to find that I had a copy of the test and I don’t think I wrote down the number and then I lost the test paper. But presumably I’ve made progress and possibly reversed the early osteoporosis that I had through doing exercises and physical therapy so there is hope you can always build more bone density As long as you are still able to move around

I don’t use my rescue inhaler unless I need to or steroids. I was taking calcium but got bone spurs. So now on a keto plan because I was needing to lose weight with enough yogurt to make it work. I had a course of flosamax already. But I am unhappy with results.

I think I was around -2.5 last time I checked. I too have been experiencing this since my 20's from years of Prednisone use. I don't really have a treatment plan but I need one. I've been on vit D before and calcium but I get calcium deposits so it's a rough balance.

I just requested to get my numbers to share. I only know I have osteopenia and osteoporosis. I cannot take any calcium as my body then creates bone spurs in the most painful places. I do take vitamin D3 though. I have taken too much steroids much of my life from doctors and also recently found out that on a full mouth xray I have 50% bone loss in all of my mouth 😥
