How do you manage your social anxiety and not let it keep you from doing what you want to do?

I take a breath and just force myself to relax. I usually listen to music as music helps me stay grounded in these situations. I also work with a therapist and he says I've grown a lot. What he told me: 1. Take baby steps, don't just throw yourself into a situation. 2. Make a list on what to say if it's a social situation (I.E "how's the weather?" "How are you" "anything sports" "hobbies" "interests" etc.) 3. Have a comfort item with you at all times, something that you know keeps you grounded. Could be candy or a stuffed animal, maybe a bracelet or ring. 4. Have conversations with yourself, practice for whatever your anxiety keeps bugging you about. 5. Keep notes about what helps you calm down and what makes you more nervous. 6. It's okay to take breaks, never be afraid to remove yourself from the situation so you can recharge. 7. Have an understanding of yourself, how far can you push yourself? How far can you go without someone you know with you to help? Those have helped me a lot. If you can, work with a therapist if you aren't already. They give good advice.

It took a long time but I’m working on it with my therapist and with medications combined
