How do I even begin to describe my negative symptoms and feelings of paranoia to my friends and partner? I’ve been holding back expressing these things for years in fear of being seen as toxic for how irrational and negative my inner dialogue can be in relation to the ones I love on bad days. How do I explain that this is not at all how I really think? Any tips on describing splitting to a loved one?

You could talk about your borderline and complex ptsd and explain the symptoms and how it affects you. Explain it using facts and let them know that your doing all you can to work on it. You don’t have to tell everyone, but I would definitely tell my s/o and family that’s close to you. Don’t fear rejection and expect them to not know everything and have questions.
