recently diagnosed with hEDS but i’ve been suffering with symptoms for around the last ten years (i’m 24). im about four months into my first full time job and also getting my masters. i feel like i can’t do it. i feel so sick everyday and i’ve always pushed through it but pushing through it now only makes me feel more sick. i feel like a failure and i don’t know what to do

It's so hard and one thing that helped me was getting adequate mental support (for me, that was counselling) to keep my mental state in a better place to lessen the stress i had going on. It's just a suggestion and i know it won't solve hEDS, but if you haven't already and you're able to access some kind of mental health services, it makes everything so much less overwhelming and hard to deal with.

Pretty sure a full time job and a master's degree would stress even an entirely healthy person. Even doing one of those things is kicking ass, you're no failure for not wanting to juggle both

Find out what your school has to offer as far as assistance. I talked to my school counselor and they offered longer deadlines for assignments, no tardy marks against me, and extra time to take exams. Any little things helps with EDS.

@Alfubet it’s not my school that’s the issue it’s work

I had similar experience while working my way through College. Now,45 years later I realize that I’m not and never was a failure. Contrary, I’m proud I stuck it out. So will you! One day at a time 🤜
