Has anyone experienced delayed gastric emptying? I was NPO for 10 hours and went in to have surgery and aspirated (vomited and inhaled it) while I was under sedation. My surgeon is concerned that something is up with my GERD or I could possibly have gastroparesis. Seeing GI in March before we try surgery again but I’m not finding a ton of info.
Hey Anna, have you had gastroscopy? When I suffered from transient gastroparesis I had a gastroscopy to see if there’s something in my stomach or esophagus
I am seeing an actual GI specialist early next month, and I assume I will be getting scoped and having an emptying study at the very least. Everything prior has been handled by my pcp and my ent surgeon. I’m hoping to find some answers!
