I have mild depression and a few anxiety disorders. My doctor feels that Zoloft would be a good option to try. I haven’t started it yet, because I am a little scared of the side effects and hate starting new medicines. If you have tried Zoloft, I would love to hear about your experience and if you recommend it or not.

I started with Zolft too. It worked alright for me for a while, but starting it up kicked my butt. It greatly affected my autonomic nervous system. I struggled to fall asleep, then struggled to wake up. I'd forget to breathe and black out. I felt so sick for about a week, and then my body mostly adjusted. I had to be careful to take it on time. Otherwise, those symptoms would come back. It helped some with the depression, but after maybe a year or two of being on it, it stopped working for me. I didn't notice at first, but I dissociated for months, walking through what felt like a dream, until I was finally knocked out of it by a big life event caused by my dream-like state. I got fired from my job, which caused me to reevaluate my life, and I had to switch medications. I hope it works better for you. I tend to react poorly to medications. Just keep an eye out for side effects. Best of luck!

I have been on zoloft since i was 11 and I'm 24 now. The first two weeks while it kicks in sucks for me. I usually get more panic attacks and low appetite but once it kicks in I feel like a new person. Like for years it made me feel stable, independent and only had panic attacks like once a month. I really recommend it. I've tried like every ssri in the book and zoloft has worked the best. Also if zoloft doesn't work for you try Lexapro. That helped me for a bit.

I was apprehensive too before taking antidepressant (not Zolotof, but Citalopram). Fortunately, I have experienced no side effects and my anxiety and depression improved significantly. You can hear a lot of unplesant and scary things about those medications, but my experience was and still is completely positive, like a huge relief and support during a very gloomy moment of my life.

Zoloft works really well for me. I was initially prescribed it for anxiety, then upped my dosage after a diagnosis with depression and PTSD. It helps me stay a bit more neutral and it's easier for me to recognize symptoms of panic attacks before they get out of control.

@kittycrime It sounds like it works really well for you. That is great! I know every medicine affects everyone different, but that gives me lots of hope! Thanks ❤️

Hey im on zoloft now , i have been on it for years . I was a little nauseous for one day but moving forward i was fine . I feel it works well for me i take 100mg . I feel i might need to try something else now for depression, what are you taking it for ?

@Nina915 I’m not currently on anything for it yet. My PCP said this one would be a good one to start with, she thinks it may help my energy levels as well. I really have high hopes for it, but I always like to get a few more opinions before I try a new medicine. I’m a bit of a chicken when trying new medicines lol. 😊

Meds work differently for everyone just remember that but I had a bad experience with it, I threw up a couple times and got very lightheaded with it, but I have heard it works well for other people so hopefully it works for you :)
