How does counseling work? Need advice!

There's a lot of ways to do it! For me, when I was in my school's counselling, we followed along a set of topics that we would talk about. You can ask your counselor how he/she/they want to run the sessions and then follow along there. Some are more personable and will let you talk about anything and give you feedback, others prefer more structure. It really just depends. So when you get there, don't be afraid to ask how they want to run it and if you have a way you want it to play out, you can ask if that's alright. Always be respectful though 😌
