I have physical and mental health problems (too many lol) and I started the process for applying for disability. Does anyone have advice through the process, or how to make it through financially in the meantime before it comes through?/

The truth is, you will be denied at first if you are not visibly sick. I have an invisible chronic illness, and I was denied at first, but once I assigned a lawyer to the case, I was approved. Take a look at the public services your state has in place, such as food assistance or cash assistance, to satisfy your needs as a human being. Apply for anything that might help you, such as Medicaid, food stamps, etc. I wish you good luck

I had an attorney help me and it still went a little wrong (I'm supposed to get DAC benefits and I don't yet). I have a lot of anxiety and was very nervous about the whole thing, especially the interview, but mine ended up going pretty well and I don't think it would have without the attorney. I got accepted the first time because of her.

@KirbyWirby that’s amazing I’m so glad for you, did you have a lot of proof or do you know what helped your case the most?

@Elise_Laura I had a few good doctors notes and I think that helped the most, having them advocate for me and say that I couldn't work because of mental and physical issues. Each doctor said the other type of doctor's note would be more helpful than theirs but I think the conjunction of doctors notes helped.
