Currently in my fourth year in college even though I am technically a freshman based on the amount of credits I have (change of career). For all my academic life (from kindergarten to now) I’ve had a poor academic performance that has negatively impacted my GPA and grades from various courses. Even as IEPs have helped (educational plan for those with an intellectual disability), both my family and myself have neglected to look further into my lifelong inability to concentrate, most thanks to cultural stigma. Recently, I’ve received proper behavioral and medical interventions for my ADHD and it has shot up my usual GPA of 2.3-2.6 to a 3.7 this semester! (First semester to ever receive an ‘A’ on a course) So, my question(s): 1. Does anyone know if there’s a possibility to wipe off bad grades on their school transcript if a diagnosis like ADHD was not recognized by either yourself or the school? Is retaking the only way to go? 2. To those who were diagnosed late into their academic career, what has your experience been like?

@Fargg Medically: I had my Adderall (generic) dosage modified. Behavioral: Started carrying a planner around, had a friend put in a code on the ‘Screen Time’ in the settings app that puts an daily limit on my phone usage as I easily get distracted. Also modifying my room as I began writing down what environmental triggers are causing me to get distracted.

what were those behavioral and medical interventions? Also how did you get an IEP and when can you get it and what does it entail?
