I’ve struggled with self harm for about 6 or 7 years now but I was able to stop for about 2 years. Now that I’m struggling with it again I’m having a hard time figuring out whether I’m just thinking about cutting or if I actually have urges and by the time I figure it out it’s too late and I’ve already done it. Does anyone else struggle with this/ does anyone know of anything that would help?

      I remember having a lot of issues with this when I was younger, mine stemming from wanting to feel an amount of control over anything in my life. It's really easy to fall into patterns with bad habits, even this, but obviously hurting yourself is not going to address the actual cause of you feeling that way. My first recommendation would be therapy, but I understand if you are unable due to finances/time/access, so I would next suggest finding a group of people who are experienced with or experiencing this kind of thing (thru somewhere like this app is great, but also looking at local support groups for general addiction might be useful). Having a consistent support group who you know is not judging you but still wants you to be your best and help you be accountable to yourself is a really great tool for getting through this time 💜
