i would say it’s worth a shot! i’ve been on antidepressants since i was 14 so 4 years and counting and it’s helped at some times and hasn’t at others. it’s definitely trial and error and what might work for one year may not work for the next. you can’t rely solely on medication tho to get ur depression or anxiety or anything in check because then it’s just not gonna work. i’ve been on meds but also have gone to therapy on and off since then. if you do start any sort of medication, give it long enough to see if it works and keep your doctor updated with side effects and how you’re feeling to see if it’s right for you. no matter what you can do this and you have a community supporting you!!

I definitely would. It usually involves lots of trial and error, and do not set your expectations at “complete remission”, as you’ll be disappointed. I’ve tried multiple medications over the years, and have found appreciable relief with duloxetine (Cymbalta), aripiprazole (Abilify), buspirone (Buspar), and trazodone (Desyrel). Good luck and keep marching on!
