How do you deal with being chronically ill? How do you not get depressed when you're in pain daily?

I know it’s hard. Be proactive about advocating for yourself- it’s possible to have just a little pain throughout the day. You don’t have to just grin and bear it. Here’s a note I wrote to myself 7 years ago after being diagnosed and struggling massively. ——- Note to self on a bad pain day: It’s a bad day, not a bad life. Here are some things to try. 1. Eat something and take medicine- there is no shame in needing medicine. 2. Shower or bathe. Get dressed and get ready slowly. Do what you can. 3. Find a peaceful spot to read, pray, relax, get inspired, dream... Stay off social media 4. Go outside if possible- fresh air usually helps. 5. Connect with people at some point in the day. FaceTime works from the couch if all else fails. 6. Give (SPOUSE) grace upon grace. This is NOT his fault and he does not deserve to have your pain and frustration taken out on him. That is not kind or fair or helpful and it will tear down the relationship you two have worked so hard to make healthy and strong. Be kind to yourself.

I deal with it because i have no other choice but to that i will entertain As for getting discouraged/depressed i do. Oct until just these last few days i have been and i am not totally out yet, but when i am heavy hearted that deep and beaten down by life i trod along and then the events just move along with time and i force myself to communicate perhaps here perhaps with people i know in the tangible world

I don’t deal. It feels like I’m just waiting to die.

My pain is managed with Otezla. Not completely gone, but bearable. If I would eliminate sugar, I know I’d be much better. I agree that Water aerobics are really helpful.

Maybe you're not on the right Medication for psoriatic arthritis? I'm on humira and been pain free since day 2 of treatment. Water aerobics helps me keep mobile also.
