I started having what I call "episodes" in Feb and they happen several times a week lasting for several hours. It became more frequent and intense. My episodic symptoms include dizziness, nausea, weakness, foggy brained, Shaky hands, feeling cold, exhausted, and just overall terrible. I later had chest pains, but I wore a heart monitor, an echocardiogram, got blood work and x-rays and everything came back normal. I haven't had an episode in 2 weeks, but I always have a headche, nauseous for most of the day, and my eye keeps twitching. I'll get also randomly get dizzy, I'm still exhausted all of the time, and I feel weaker than normal. My doctor thinks it is FB. I do have some pain, but it doesn't sound like the same kind of intense pain others described so I'm not sure if this is a flare up, normally has FB is, or if it is something different. Any insight would be greatly appreciated!

Having a flare up right now. That feeling of being cold is what starts off a bad day. What do you guys do for pain management?

@JamesJC I'm always cold! I have that same feeling of being cold and I know it's going down. I'm new to this but I have a hand held massager I use on my pain spots (neck, shoulder, and back) and it really helps! I also try to stretch daily and use heating to help. I don't usually ice since I'm always cold but I probably should haha. My doctor also started me on Duloxotine but I think it's too early to tell if it's helping. I hope your flare up ends soon!

I've had drug reactions even after being on a med for years. I had to drop Gabapentin and all opiate painkillers because I began having major side effects. Plus, any sleep meds I've been given quit working after a couple of months. FM just doesn't follow the usual pattern.

@LadyPasta1 That's interesting the drug reactions occurred later. I'll have to look into that. My medication to help me feel less tired isn't as effective and my doctor already upped my dosage. That's frustrating to keep changing meds.

It sounds like a mild case of fibromyalgia ā€¦ there are so many symptoms itā€™s a lot but it definitely sounds like it.

@JustRachelle Thanks! I guess I just think of pain as the main symptom, but there really are a lot. It's good knowing this may be the right diagnosis!

Fibromyalga has so many symptoms you could very well be having a flare with fibro fog.

@MiMiof2GREATNephews ok, thanks for the feedback! I still have a lot to read up on about fibromyalgia.

When I have flare-ups it usually includes a migraine, nausea, and just all over body pain to the point where I just want to stay in bed all day. It could be possible you are having a flareup, but it's more probable that you could be having adverse side affects from your medication.

@PrincessBubbles Thanks for the insight! My first thought was a reaction to my meds, but I've been on them for several years and my doctors think it's unlikely based on no additional problems.

@Psycho24 I didnā€™t know FB was one of the abbreviations because Iā€™ve never seen itā€¦ Iā€™ve only seen FM, FMS, and FMA .. Iā€™m glad I know now šŸ’•
