The thing I hate the most about epilepsy is after I have seizures like today, I lose the ability to think as clearly and I become very scared and dependent on those around me because I am so scared and anxious to do anything. how do I clear the brain fog and calm myself down after my seizures because it always feels overwhelming?
The epileptic seizures I’ve had while awake were when I was alone, but what I do is I lay/sit down for a minute or two. I let my heart calm down and I breathe. Sometimes I think, “it’s over now, I’m ok” unless of course I’m not ok and get injured during the seizure.
absolutely. Your brain is literally sending a bunch of electric signals that shouldn’t be. So it makes sense that your brain would be in a fog. It’s overwhelmed. And the ones when I’m asleep cause me to be very groggy/confused when I wake up.
I always hated the space cadet feeling after my seizures. Eventually I Decided to try medical cannabis and CBD . It has greatly improved my life. I’ve not had a seizure in 3 years. And as long as I continue my treatment regimen I stay stable. Meds were something I had issues with because In couldn’t absorb them . Had to take liquid form of everything. Now I don’t.
This is so real! I hate the post-seizure exhaustion and complete foggy-ness. My memory has been severely impacted by epilepsy and it just sucks. I’m sorry. I don’t know how to make it better, just know you aren’t alone.
It is so typical for me , I expect it and rest . I know it will go away, have I call my people to call for support. Try and have have people you can call to support you. 🤗
