Why I'm Uninstalling This App: A Warning to Others

PLEASE READ! I will be uninstalling this app and I'll list the reasons why. I'll also be warning people against using this app for the reasons I list. I'll be keeping the app installed until tomorrow so if any systems would like to be friends, please feel free to message and ask for our Discord. 1. There's still no proper block feature, you only have the ability to block someone who you've contacted in DMs before. Because of this, you cannot block someone you've never interacted with before and you'll continue to see their posts on your feed. They're prioritizing features that have nothing to do with the safety of the people using their app. An app like this should NEVER have no proper block feature after being out for such a long time. 2. The ability to downvote posts and comments needs to be removed. All it's doing is fueling a toxic community where people can't speak without the fear of being ridiculed and shamed. It makes it feel like it's not safe to say what's on your mind, and that if you do, people will treat you like trash instead of explaining what's wrong with what you said. While some things people say do deserve to be downvoted, other things are people making genuine mistakes and accidentally saying things that might hurt someone. With the ability to downvote things, it's less likely people will explain what the issue is and will instead just downvote and make someone feel terrible. 3. There are a lot of minors on this app and they're getting away with it. This app is advertised as 18+ only, minors being on this app makes it an unsafe space for adults who only want to be around other adults and who want to discuss adult issues openly, and potentially an unsafe space for the minors as well. A lot of sexual issues are also discussed on this app, and it is not meant for minors to engage with or even just see. This issue is persisting so much that proof of age needs to be required to sign up for this app. 4. As more and more people have been saying recently, people have been starting to treat this app like it's some kind of dating or hook up app. People, especially women, have been receiving unsolicited inappropriate DMs from random people. Yet another safety issue that is seemingly not being dealt with. 5. The moderation of the app is EXTREMELY poor. Someone could be mass reported and nothing will be done for days, even with dozens of posts filled with hate speech readily available for staff to see. Someone has to go through customer service to get any attention paid to their report. 6. Customer service takes an unreasonable amount of time. For an app like this, customer service should NEVER take more than half a day to a day at most. 3+ days for a response is extremely unreasonable. Sometimes customer support will respond to messages, but will ignore the most important part, making you explain things over and over. 7. They do not care about suggestions and complaints people give. They're always brushed off. 8. Some Alike Advocates are given special treatment, while others are treated unfairly. I've seen various points of view to prove this, some people are given the badge within a few days while others will wait weeks. Some are kept in the loop and invited to test new features, while others are left in the dark. When I was first invited to become an Alike Advocate, I was suddenly removed from the chat without warning. I contacted them about this, but was ignored until I threatened to tell people about it, only then was I added back. When I asked why I was removed, the only answer I was given was that they don't know.
