am I the only who get sick being told how strong they are? idk it's tiring to constantly being told that "strong" when all I've really done is emotionally and mentally shut down so I don't have to explain shit

100% it makes me feel like I will never be able to breath again. Plus I've had someone tell me, well look how strong it has made you. I did not need someone to rape me to make me strong. I was strong before. Now I have nightmares of guys chasing me down the street yelling "think about how strong it will make you". I understand it was supposed to be up lifting but I don't think people realize what pressure they are putting on us when they say that.. I can't be strong all the time..

Yes. My mental battles were tough but what about people actually fighting wars and accomplishing big things. I don't feel better about being called strong ig

Honestly, sometimes the actual strong thing to do is to put up those boundaries or be open about how weak we feel. Like. I feel strongest when I'm acknowledging that I have triggers and bad days and that I sometimes need help. People don't always realize that strength is relative.

Constantly! I've been having an awful time with my mental health the last few months and everyone is like "You're dealing with it so well" NO! No I'm not! šŸ˜„

I shut down a lot too. I know it's bad to bottle up your emotions but it's just easier to say, "I'm fine" rather than, "you asked someone to hurt me, I hate you."
