I literally cannot function unless I am on an antidepressant. When I’m off my meds I become agoraphobic and don’t leave the house. I don’t shower, and vomit from stress and nausea. So I’d say they change my life for the better.

Lexapro is working well for me. I take fiber daily because it can cause constipation. Hope u feel better ❤️‍🩹🙏🏻

@Emalou thank you so much. Sucks we all have to go through this. Miss just being normal and normal anxiety. Now as I got older its just horrible

My advice is even if the first one or two stink, there's gonna be one out there that works and doesn't give the worst side effects. I did some trial and error before I found one that worked well. MAKE SURE you ask you doctor how bad they are to get off of though too, of you ever want to do that down the road. I had a real bad time with withdrawal tapering off of Celexa.

@SmileySnail thanks so much. So glad you found the right one. I know its so scary. When I took lexapro for the one day I did. I had so many side effects . Like panic attack after panick attack. Just horrible.

@kay3 it's worth the effort once you find one that works. I had a bad time I think because I couldn't let myself trust the medication in part - I ended up freaking out because I was taking A medication, not because of anything that particular med was doing I think

@kay3 that's for sure not the one for you! Zoloft is my horrible time drug - so many people use it with so many benefits, but it gave me serotonin syndrome twice. Lexapro wasnt great, prozac kept me up at night, but Celexa was great for me and I was on it for years, it only stunk once I tried to stop it a few months ago. It took a few years because I gave up a few times but I really believe that the right antidepressant can help so many people that end up not getting the help b/c of a bad experience or the stigma around psych meds

I have tried Zoloft and I'm on cymbalta now and I honestly have loved both! I was so afraid that they were going to turn me into a zombie, like take away my emotions, but they have made me feel more like myself. It really is a lifesaver. (Sidenote: Zoloft was great, the only reason I switched was because I have chronic migraines and cymbalta also helps with that.)

@EmmaWai wow thanks. I love positive stories. I was dumb and went on facebook page of negative stuff and just soooo scared so thanks 😊

@kay3 haha, I did the same thing before I started too. I'm happy I trusted my doctor and my husband who told me to at least try.

Thanks so much. I tried lexaori for one day lol. It was awful though so I'm scared to try more. But I know I need something. Your tight life stressor get worse with age. Im 36 and I stress over anything and everything even if I shouldnt

Hey :) so I started a low dose of Paxil when I was 17 and took that same dose until my early 20s. I did work for a while, but as we get older, most life stresses come along and therefore, your anxieties rise with it. I began Prozac about 2 years ago and it’s changed my life completely. I haven’t had a panic attack in over a year. I was iffy on taking meds/swapping meds at first too…but the good thing is, these types of meds take a bit of time to kick in. If you don’t like the way they make you feel after so many weeks, you can always switch off and talk to your doctor about it! They will always put you on a low dose to start.
