It was incredibly long and difficult, I remember comming out of doctors appointment in tears because there were no answers for what was happening to me. It was just test after test for months on end. Now that I'm diagnosed, most people believe me once I explain it to them. And if they don't I just remind myself that their opinion doesn't change my truth.

No! My Dr kept telling me I was wrong until I demanded an EEG. Stand up for yourself!!

It took me years to get diagnosed and just because mine didn’t show up on the EEGs conveniently the doctors didn’t want to believe me. I finally met a neurologist that believed I was having them even though they weren’t showing up on the EEGs. Then one day I had one in front of him. I no longer live near him and the doctor in my new town is doubting my old doctors diagnosis.

Getting a diagnosis was incredibly difficult. It took two years because of an immense amount of medical trauma and being dismissed by doctors. Advice I have would be to do research on non epileptic and dissociative seizures as well as to stand your ground. You’re not making them up, you’re not faking and your seizures are very real and you are valid. ♥️
