I just talked to my psychiatrist and told him I'm getting ASD testing this month. I'm excited. If you were tested as an adult, what was your experience with testing?

      I did neuropsych testing in January 2020. I found it fun and fascinating. For my experience, first we talked about my symptoms and life a bit. Then there was a lot of little tests and stuff with memory, some were timed, etc. I don't remember a lot of specifics. Then at the end, there was a long questionnaire that was on a scale of "strongly agree" to "strongly disagree". Then I had to wait 2 weeks for my results, and I went back in and he told me about the results. It was super eye opening for me!

          @subtlecoconut my psychiatrist at the time referred me to the neuropsych and insurance covered it, so I'm not exactly sure! I'm sorry I can't help more!

      I had my testing done last month and it was very easy. Although he had told me after my initial psych eval that autism testing would be "like falling off a log" (for me).

      I want to get my testing too. You just tell your psychiatrist about it and that’s it?

        @yuejold No, I happened to have an appointment with him and we briefly discussed it. My testing is being done at another facility that specializes in ASD testing.
