I need some trustworthy Advice, for a Male that I know, experiencing Severe Depression, to the point of not wanting to get out of bed in the mornings. I also have Depression, but mine comes and goes and I'm no expert in the matter. Just wondering if people can provide some things that might HELP them when it gets bad? This Man already sees a professional, but pro. only asks him how he's doing, then prescribes more medicine that seems to have No GOOD side effects. I shared with him the obvious; Journaling, Meditation, Walking, Eating Healthy/Sleeping/Less Stress, Etc. I wish there was more I could do.

I’ve dealt with this with my partner and although he’s not 100% he is a million times better than he was when we started the journey last year. All I can suggest is one task at a time. Maybe suggest he starts brushing his teeth every day (or another thing he struggles with) and then onces he’s got that down, try showering everyday and so on. I understand how you feel having to watch someone you care about struggling that badly so if you need more help, feel free to send me a message.

Try getting a light box. Sometimes simply simulating the sun can make a huge difference in the brain chemicals. I have S.A.D. and my light box is a life saver, especially in the winter. I've been where he is. It sucks. I still struggle with getting daily tasks done.

I have major depression I'm bipolar general anxiety disorder and ADHD with PTSD. And I've been feeling the same exact way I have been laying in bed for over a month and a half, no motivation, no will to live and just recently I started getting better on my own I just let it run its course.
