What successful and healthy relationship have you've sustained, and why do you think you've been able to? šŸŒ What some advice you'd give to those of us who are struggling to maintain interpersonal relationships? šŸŽ‡

So me and my partner have been through it in terms of working through the way we both think and react to eachother. I am ADHD/Dyspraxic and have trauma from a previous relationship. My partner is Autistic and has trauma from their upbringing. We are in an amazing place now, and I am so unbelievably happy and comfortable with them. The key is patience and honesty. We talk frankly and openly about the things that bother us, about the things we do that upset eachother. We work through them understanding that neither of us are doing it deliberately. Thats my biggest bit of advice, keep perspective. If your partner has concerns, listen to them and address them without internalising it. And expect the same of your partner. If a partner canā€™t do the emotional leg work needed to keep a relationship healthy then they probably arenā€™t ready for a relationship at all xx

@Megxliza this answer is amazing! First of all, I'm really happy for you and your partner šŸŽ‰ But absolutely golden advice re open communication and not internalising if your partner has a problem and vice versa. I think so many times we can end up in that mentality of assuming it's an attack on our character, when in reality it's not. Thank you so much for sharing! šŸ’™
