I love my husband but when I try to talk about my depression, he makes it about him and how my depression affects him. I feel that is selfish. I have enough on my plate trying to get right. I can’t handle his issues but I love him and I am concerned about him. What can I do?

I was going to ask the same question ⬆️. If you haven’t gone to marriage/couples counseling, I would definitely find a good MFT (Marriage & Family Therapist) and give that a try. I hope you find something that helps, depression is exhausting in & of itself 💜

@Wolfwolf I did not think of that. Good suggestion! I have to feel him out, I think he would be willing. 👍

Depression and anxiety are a family disease. We tend to unintentionally get attention. He may be feeling left out. Maybe sit down and bring up your issue and then ask him, do you ever feel this way?? Make it about the 2 of you. Be grateful he has at least some understanding about it. My husband thinks he gets it, but has no clue

@museic very astute! He has stated he feels left out. I’m thankful that he cares!
