Hi so I finally worked up the nerve to go and take my permit I’m newly 19 I’ve taken it before at 17 but it was in a different state and online during Covid so I didn’t get to take my picture and that really put me off of taking it again and I did today and I didn’t pass and it’s made me completely spiral and I’m not sure why tons of people don’t pass but it’s seems my threshold for inconvenience is significantly less than others and it bring on a full depressive episode that sometimes lasts days where I just don’t even get why I’m here and I don’t see the point in anything I’m just running on autopilot idk what to do but I’m tired of being down

      Ugh I understand that! My anxiety and depression were better when I did my drivers stuff, but I failed the first time too and if that happened while I was depressed boy that would have been bad! I cried yesterday because a car cut me off. And because I was behind a garbage truck. And because my mom didn’t answer my call. Basically just a lot. I spiral at any little thing. I hope you allow yourself to feel your feelings and don’t invalidate them. It’s hard not succeeding at something! As much as you rationally know that it happens to a lot of people and doesn’t relate to your worth, sometimes the emotions don’t line up with it. My therapist really emphasizes to feel how you feel, and then process and you might accept the rational reasoning. Going straight to the reasoning isnt enough! I really hope you feel better and you can always message me!

      I feel you. I understand how you’re one small bad thing away from crashing down. The unfortunate thing is the best advice I’ve gotten for this from my therapist is to sit through your feelings. You’re upset you didn’t pass and rightfully so. You can’t really fight being upset, you have to believe that you will feel better on the other side. It might be a long time but there will be another side to the pain. I hope things get better for you.
