So I moved out from Texas to Washington to be closer to the guy i was dating. This was about a year and a half ago now. We dated for over a year total. And once it was no longer long distance and we dated in person, I saw too many red flags and ended it. All of the friends I made here came through him. When it ended, I lost all my friends too. 6 months later, I found the man of my dreams and we’re married now. But I still have no real friends other than him. Im lonely. Any advice on making friends?

Honestly, all my friends, even my boyfriend, came to me. I didn't come to them, I'm an introvert. I say be yourself, be nice, and don't be afraid to try a few new things, and take good opportunities. But I have a few ideas and tips. 🖤Firstly, remember that quality counts more, not quantity. I'd rather have 2 good friend then 10 fake ones. 🖤 Second, just like with your ex, your existing social network can come into play, whether it be a friend, co-worker, or distant relative. You can have some people you know connect you with new people. It's ok to do that. We already have blind romantic dates, so why not blind friendship ones? 🖤 Thirdly, you can try to have online friends. My 1 friend has alot of those more that real life friends because it was a little easier. Apps are a great way to meet people and more convenient since you can do it all from the comfort of your own home. No shame if you're not an online friender though, I ain't, it's very difficult for me to be open with online people. I hope these tips help!

What's your dream guy's friend situation like?

@melabeille he’s fairly new to Washington too so we’re kinda working on it together lol. There’s a couple he’s close with and I’ve been getting close with them too.

I wish I could help, but unfortunately I have only one friend irl. I keep trying to meet more but all my efforts seem to fail and I feel really lonely all the time too.

Be your self. And be polite. That's the only advice I have. Sorry
