Living with Chronic Illness: My Struggles and Comforts

I am alone most of the time doing my art. Having a passion makes the time go faster. My liver disease causes me to itch constantly everywhere. I am a mass of open sores. My itching caused an infection in my knee replacement and that had to be redone. I take massive doses of antibiotics . My picc line just came out so that is good. My knee buckles when I walk, so that’s scary. My diabetes is controlled, but vision is bad. I find my life now is letting go and accepting where I am physically. I find great comfort in my spouse who now cooks and cleans for me. He has chronic Lyme disease, and has bad days too. My life was is lived more inside myself than outside. I have 90 percent blockage in my left carotid artery and the surgeons don’t want to touch it. Right now I am thinking of getting my affairs in order and wait for God.
