is anyone on prn / sedative medications every day? like for anxiety around school or work etc? i used to take ativan every day before school because i literally could not leave the car without it, and it helped so much. i didn’t feel like everyone was starting at me and i could actually converse with people and get work done because i wasn’t focused on my anxiety. my psychiatrist stopped prescribing them to me though because they can be addictive. but i’ve read online and heard that some people with extreme anxiety take meds like that daily when they need to, is anyone on here taking something like a benzodiazepine / something similar every day? my anxiety is like off the charts crazy bad :(

I used to take Ativan and clonazepam frequently, but pts who take them for long periods of time can grow tolerant of them. They also are frequently abused, which is a tragedy for those of us with indications for them :/ my psychiatrist likes to prescribe buspirone if people feel that they need some assistance for anxiety in place of benzodiazepines. I'd ask your psychiatrist about that or adjusting the dosage of your current psychotropic meds! Hope this helps! Sending you CozyVibez❤️

I take Hydroxozine daily. I'm not sure if it's a prn/sedative, but it's super helpful when you're on a low dose!

@carter._.16 It's certainly often prescribed as PRN/sedative! I've been prescribed it for transient insomnia :)

hi! i don’t take ativan for anxiety, but i do take propanolol as needed for it. i used to take it daily before working with my therapist specifically on anxiety. talk to your psychiatrist and see if they can re-prescribe them— if your anxiety is causing you serious problems, ie being unable to function in every day life, they should probably give u them. if they don’t do that, try 2 talk to them abt other anxiety medications! good luck on your journey! ❤️
