Right around when I started talking methylphenidate, and Adderall I also started to have massive panic attacks which is why I’m scared to take them again. I was also in a bad place and pretty depressed so I don’t know what the real cause was. Does anyone else have any other ideas for medication? Now that I’m happy again my adhd is still horrendous lol.

An IR instead of an XR stimulant might be better because you can control the dose easier if you feeling like the panic attacks are coming on because of the medication. The downside is you have to take it more frequently but the plus is that you can tailor your medication based on what you need to do for the day.

@ToastyToast geese and do you feel like if you go the dose will it just keep happening?

I've been taking Vyvanse for at least the past 5 years. It really helped but now I'm afraid that I've built up a tolerance to it. I didn't do well on Adderall.

@LSneiderwine maybe a higher dose? How much are you taking now? But I feel like it would be a vicious cycle🤦🏽

It could be possible you were on too high of a dose of Adderall. Sometimes people take the extended release version of Adderall so that way you don’t get as big of an intense high right away and it’s more subtle.

@Zacharypeace I see what you mean and I appreciate the input! Only thing I didn’t want to take high doses so they put me on 5-10mg of methylphenidate, but I was curious if Adderall may suit me better so I switched. They started me on 10mg extended release. But not super long after I started having anxiety and several massive panic attacks every day. I’ve often thought about it and I think Methylphenidate suited me much better but..

@KratomEater I know what you mean Adderall can do that to me at times as well especially days that I am not doing much. That just has to do with it causing your heart to race which in returns causes panic/anxiety attacks. You could maybe try Vyvanse, it’s similar to Adderall but doesn’t have the same “high” as Adderall and people say it’s safer to use as well
