Happened to me after a fight with a family member because of my personality disorder behavior but I just had to listen to music and I eventually slept.

or even if you went into a different room that wasn't associated with sleeping until you were tired and tried again. It doesn't work for everyone, I live in my bedroom (more because it's my "safe" space) so it didn't work for me it made me more anxious but I know for some people it helps

Sometimes I have a program on my laptop on in the background. It’s enough to distract my brain slightly so I can get to sleep (eventually) but not too much to keep me awake. I know this isn’t for everyone, and honestly going back a few years I couldn’t have any noise around me to get to sleep, so I was surprised when it began to help me a few months ago.
I've been having anxiety whenever I think about going to sleep the past few weeks and it's keeping me up, sometimes meditation helps and I'll probably try that again
@AnimalBoy I've been told that if you can't get to sleep get up walk around do something and try again should help, it does for some people for me it makes me more awake as my brain becomes more active but that may take away the anxiety around sleeping because your not laid there focusing on trying to sleep

@mysterious320 I can't walk very much by the end of the day but I could try replacing it with stretching and see if that helps!
@mysterious320 I was about to say this too! I've done this a few times and it has helped me.
We have insomnia where we go 72 hours without sleep sometimes we know how difficult it is
@Ghost1211 We can take melatonin for a bit and it'll work before we build up a tolerance to it anyways then we have to drop it deal with the insomnia for a while then can try again with the melatonin and that goes for any prescribed sleeping medication as well but listening to music or listening to something busy like someone gaming and commenting helps
@Ghost1211 I find that listening to someone playing video games either on YouTube or on twitch is really relaxing or oddly enough true crime. But my brain works oddly haha
Sounds can bother me when I can't sleep and am trying to. And lights really bother me. Lately, I've been using a diffuser and adding in essential oils I like. It has really helped me. Sometimes, taking a hot shower makes me sleepy, too. Also, reading a physical book can put me to sleep, lol. Smoking heavy indica at the end of the day has helped me in the past. If i dont get sleep, I'm unable to eat and function, basically. I've been on seroquel for a few weeks, and it has helped me get the proper sleep. I really hope you can get a good night's sleep tonight :)
me too, i've always had problems with insomnia and still haven't figured out the cause. right now i'm taking hydroxyzine for a few reasons, but it's supposed to help with sleep too. it helps a noticable amount, like if i forget to take it i notably have more trouble sleeping, but my insomnia is still really bad :/ lately i've been trying to take naps throughout the day to give my body more rest, but naps aren't always the most feasible option unfortunately
I'm in the same boat I take tablets that are meant to help you sleep I took them at 7pm uk time and it's now 1.54am and I'm still awake I find that I don't force myself to try and get to sleep or try to not worry too much about it, your body should eventually shut off. Have you tried relaxing music like the sound of the ocean or something like that?
@mysterious320 hi thanks for replying! I am on a max dose of sleeping medication but forgot to take it before midnight so I’m now unable to sleep. Do you have any relaxing music you would recommend? I will try the ocean sounds but any other ideas are welcome
@JessyP I normally just YouTube or Spotify relaxing/calming music I know some people find rainforest sounds relaxing but heres a link to a 3 hr video of calming music that may help :) https://youtu.be/1ZYbU82GVz4
