@Soupie I understand, you can try more than 1 thing at once just don't overdo it and don't do too much!!

Ugh I feel you! I make my living as a model and I hate to exercise! I stuck with it for a out four years but never learned to like it and quit the first second a possible medical condition made me lay off a little... My best defense against the flab is a no carb diet - I try not to snack at all between meals but if I have to it's cucumber, celery or blueberries maybe with a little piece of cheese. Granted, there are days when I want to eat myself silly and, every now and then, I give into it - willpower is like a muscle and it needs a rest every now and then too to keep morale up ;-) šŸ‘

Yes, same here!!! Itā€™s a struggle wanting to be more active and lose weight but losing the commitment to it when depressive episodes hit and I eat more.

@Venni3 exactly ! I see so many others on an amazing committed weight loss journey and I honestly donā€™t know how they stick with it for so long or get back up from slip ups.

I struggle with this as well, and I've tried to lose weight but having no motivation, or having motivation but no ability to get up and get to do something is hard, I understand you. One tip I can give you is to try not to do everything at once, if you're trying to have a balanced and healthy routine, do NOT do too much, because it's going to cause you to easily burn out and not be able to do your workout, for example, make a checklist where you will write your daily routine, now make sure it doesn't have too many steps or it will be too hard to follow, like I said before, don't try doing everything at once or quickly, just go with the flow because you're gonna get tired quick ( just write in the basic stuff like brushing your teeth, taking a shower, and eating, working out, since those are the most important steps). Now as for a workout routine don't do a lot, sure, you can do everything you set your mind to do, but NOT in the condition u are in right now, so every day, do a little bit of something, don't try to do a whole working out routine of abs, legs, and arms at the same time, keep a weekly routine where each day, you focus on one part of your body, and make sure you get a day or 2 to rest because it's important, drink a lot of water and don't forget to warmup/cooldown each time you workout. I really hope I helped and I wish you luck amd motivation in your weight loss journey :))) sending love šŸ’•

I asked my best friend to work out with me to stay accountable. We work out a few times a week, if we miss a day we know we have to make it up, and we work around low spoon days as best we can. Find someone in your life that can help!

@AwkwardMoth I feel that would really help but I don't really have anyone or any in person friends :(

The only way to get motivated is to start moving! Its hard. But once you're up and moving you'll generally feel more motivated to get things accomplished.

@Shortykake I try my best to move in anyway I can just sometimes my depression is so severe I just have episodes of manic crying

@Soupie I hear you.. But there isn't really a short cut on motivation. You gotta try to get outta your own head. Its really hard. But once you start moving it gets easier.. Personally, I'm really struggling with just that. But knowing that I am in control of my own happiness gives me strength to start. Your support system can only go so far for you. But BELIEVE in yourself. You WILL get there.

I also struggle with motivation but something that helps me is setting alarms so I can have a consistent schedule. Also, meal prepping so I already have a healthy meal prepared and am less likely to go for junk.

@El12345 Also, I see that you have LGBTQ listed on your profile so this might help: a major reason that I want to lose weight is to help with dysphoria. It's hard to come across as anything other than feminine when my entire body is soft and round. If you're coming from the other direction, I've heard that squats can be good for building up mass in your butt and hips and coming across as more feminine. If you're cis though and dysphoria isn't really a concern I don't know how to help with that as much, sorry.

Hello, yes. I have the motivation but I am addicted to junk food.

@jassybird where do you get motivation from ?

        • jassybird

          640d

@Soupie I'm motivated by wanting to fit into the dresses that I like and I'm also motivated by the fear of having more health issues.
