do you guys have any coping mechanisms for social anxiety? I usually just ignore how I feel until I break down. which is hurting my relationships with my close friends but I do not know how to handle it very well.

I myself have struggled with a very similar experience. What I did was do tons of research on social anxiety, inform my friends about what I suffer from, then from there we make a plan together for if I ever panic while with them. My friend allows me to hold his arm when we are in public, sometimes we'll find a quiet place and practice breathing techniques together.

I have one friend that I can talk about it with and that usually helps me a lot however I know for some people it can be very hard I have been friends with the person I talk to for 8+ years now so it’s sometimes easier for me to talk to them and that friend even will help me how to word things so it doesn’t come off as being rude and not wanting to be around one person instead it comes off as hey I’m struggling at the moment and need some space before I just push everyone away
