Managing Flare Ups: Tips and Tricks

I start a low residue diet, make sure to stay as hydrated as possible (liquid iv powder really helps me with that), contact my GI to see if steroids need to be added to my meds to get the flare under control, if I am unable to keep food or drink down I go to the hospital and stay for a few days while I do a bowel rest, take lots of baths/use my heating pad

I call my GI asap to get lab work done to check inflammation levels and majority of the time I will be put on steroids

I have some steroids nearby, but I call my GI doctor to get his opinion before starting it..
