I was dumped by my therapist (1st and only one I've had) after 2.5 years together since my progress and emotional openness plummeted after we were forced to go virtual and I moved away for college, which has been very hard. How do I find the trust and motivation to get back out there and see someone new when I struggle to face the day as is?

Hey, it must be really hard what happened to you and I guess it wouldn’t be so easy to trust another therapist but just as in life, some people will let you down but you should not give up on everyone.. Good therapist could really help you and when you will find a good one it will all be worth it

There are a LOT of people going through the exact same thing. You aren’t alone in any of this. I’ve been going to therapy my entire life - and I’ve had HORRIBLE therapists, but I’ve also had wonderful ones! All of which have faded in and out of my life, for either good or bad reasons. I don’t take it personally. They’re only doing a job. They aren’t your friend, they’re there to help you and if they don’t have the capacity to do so - that’s fine! Someone will. It’s like seeing a doctor. If one doctor isn’t the right fit, they’ll send you away. So you shake it off and find a new doctor because you’re still sick and you still need help. I understand that how hard it is to be vulnerable like that with a new person, and the next therapist you see may not be right for you either… and it’s ok!! There ARE people out there who are going to be right for you. If you’re struggling to get through your days, give yourself the gift of finding someone to help you. You don’t deserve to live like that. Let yourself be your own motivation! Your doing what any other person would do in your shoes. And remember- Future you will look back and thank you for reaching out and finding help when you did! Wishing you the best of luck! (Feel free to Dm me if you need anyone to vent to!)
